Celebrating Savannah Bravo - College Athlete of the Month

For March, we are proud to recognize Savannah Bravo, a senior softball player at Indiana Tech, as our College Athlete of the Month.

Savannah has built an outstanding career defined by success both in the classroom and on the field:

Holds the all-time strikeout record at Indiana Tech
2× WHAC First Team All-Conference

Savannah’s ability to consistently perform at a high level — academically and athletically — speaks to her discipline, work ethic, and leadership.

Reaching the 500 strikeout milestone while setting the program record is a remarkable achievement and a testament to her dedication over the course of her career.

We are proud to recognize Savannah as our March College Athlete of the Month and celebrate the impact she’s made at Indiana Tech and beyond.

Celebrating Grace Huisman - College Athlete of the Month

For December, we are honored to spotlight Grace Huisman, a senior triathlete from Trine University and native of Muncie, Indiana. Grace has distinguished herself not only as an exceptional athlete — helping Trine to multiple national runner-up finishes and earning three-time All-American status — but also as a national award winner. She was selected as the 2025 THE ALEXANDER Award winner by USA Triathlon — one of the highest honors in collegiate triathlon, recognizing excellence in sport, academics, and community impact.

Grace’s leadership and commitment represent the best of student-athletes in our region and beyond. We congratulate her on being our December College Athlete of the Month!👏

Celebrating AJ Agnew and Landon Smith - College Athletes of the Month

Preferred Auto Group is proud to recognize Purdue Fort Wayne golfers AJ Agnew and Landon Smith as our November College Athletes of the Month! These two student-athletes exemplify what it means to lead with courage, teamwork, and integrity—both on and off the course. Their recent act of bravery in helping save a man’s life shows the kind of character and quick thinking that make them true role models in our community. We’re honored to celebrate their achievements and proud to continue supporting University and College Athletics across Northeast Indiana. 🎥 Their full interview will air on 21 Alive News, November 14th.

Celebrating Hannah Sweeney - College Athlete of the Month

Preferred Automotive Group is proud to recognize Hannah Sweeney as our College Athlete of the Month for October 2025.

Hannah is a senior at the University of Saint Francis, where she's made a tremendous impact on the women's volleyball program. As team captain and full-time libero, she's known for her leadership, consistency, and drive to make those around her better.

Supporting East Allen County Special Olympics

Preferred Auto was honored to once again partner with the East Allen County Special Olympics for our annual fundraiser cookout! A big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, and good company—all in support of these amazing athletes and their programs.

The East Allen County Special Olympics continues to provide life-changing opportunities for athletes of all abilities, with upcoming events including the State Cornhole Tournament on September 28, 2025, at Grand Park in Westfield, IN, followed by the start of bowling practice on September 29, leading into County, Area, and State competitions. This November, they will also be hosting an online quilt auction to raise additional funds.

We're proud to support this organization each year and encourage anyone interested to get involved. New athletes can register at portals.specialolympics.org, and supporters can stay connected by joining the Special Olympics East Allen County Facebook group.

Nate Johnson - September College Athlete of the Month

Preferred Auto is proud to recognize Nate Johnson (#97), Defensive Tackle at the University of Saint Francis, as our September 2025 College Athlete of the Month!

Nate's standout performance against Siena Heights helped secure a big win for the Cougars, and his dedication on and off the field makes him a true leader. His full interview will air on 21 Alive News next week—don't miss it!

Love Light, Shine Bright at Lutheran Children's Hospital

On Thursday night, December 17th, Santa's helper decorated a Preferred Auto truck and used it to participate in "Love Light, Shine Bright" at Lutheran Children's Hospital.

Love Light, Shine Bright is an exchange of vehicle and flashlight beams between community members in their vehicles and patients inside Lutheran Children's Hospital. The children were able to interact with the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne Fire Department, and of course, Santa.

In association with The Greater Good of Fort Wayne, Mad Anthony's Children's Hope House, and Lutheran Children's Hospital.

Annual Christmas Tree Giveaway

We held our annual Christmas Tree giveaway on December 6th, 2020, spreading holiday cheer throughout our community. Watch the video to see the smiles and joy we were able to bring to local families during the holiday season.

Supporting Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do

Preferred Automotive Group donates annually to Camp Watcha-Wanna-Do, a summer camp for children who are battling cancer.

In 2018 we were pleased to raise $13,123 to help send kids to a week of camp, free of charge to their families. This incredible program provides children and their families with unforgettable experiences during challenging times.

Pink Badge Campaign Partnership

$562 Donation

Preferred Automotive Group is proud to announce that they donated $562 to the Pink Badge Campaign. The Fort Wayne Police Department and the Vera Bradley Foundation, along with a handful of local businesses, raised money in the month of October for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.

Preferred Automotive president Jay Leonard is pictured with Michael Joyner of the Fort Wayne Police Department. Preferred Automotive Group is in their second year of sponsoring this fantastic program and hope to help raise thousands more in the years to come.
