Community Involvement

Giving back to our Fort Wayne community through support of local athletes, charities, and organizations that make a difference.

Supporting East Allen County Special Olympics

Preferred Auto was honored to once again partner with the East Allen County Special Olympics for our annual fundraiser cookout! A big thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, and good company—all in support of these amazing athletes and their programs.

The East Allen County Special Olympics continues to provide life-changing opportunities for athletes of all abilities, with upcoming events including the State Cornhole Tournament on September 28, 2025, at Grand Park in Westfield, IN, followed by the start of bowling practice on September 29, leading into County, Area, and State competitions. This November, they will also be hosting an online quilt auction to raise additional funds.

We're proud to support this organization each year and encourage anyone interested to get involved. New athletes can register at portals.specialolympics.org, and supporters can stay connected by joining the Special Olympics East Allen County Facebook group.

Love Light, Shine Bright at Lutheran Children's Hospital

On Thursday night, December 17th, Santa's helper decorated a Preferred Auto truck and used it to participate in "Love Light, Shine Bright" at Lutheran Children's Hospital.

Love Light, Shine Bright is an exchange of vehicle and flashlight beams between community members in their vehicles and patients inside Lutheran Children's Hospital. The children were able to interact with the Fort Wayne Police Department, Fort Wayne Fire Department, and of course, Santa.

In association with The Greater Good of Fort Wayne, Mad Anthony's Children's Hope House, and Lutheran Children's Hospital.
